The Classics Minor

The Classics Minor is an interdisciplinary minor with participation from departments in the College of Letters, Arts, & Sciences. A total of 26 credits are minimally necessary for graduating with a minor in Classics. Eight of the 26 credits must be either in Latin or in Greek; the remainder may be chosen from the list of approved courses for the minor, at least nine of which must be upper division.

Language Courses

Either 8 credits in Greek from the following:

  • Greek 1010: Beginning Attic Greek I; and Greek 1020: Beginning Attic Greek II
  • Greek 1100: Beginning Koine Greek I; and Greek 1200: Beginning Koine Greek II

OR:

  • Latin 1010: Beginning Latin I; and Latin 1020: Beginning Latin II
  • Latin 2110: Intermediate Latin I
  • Latin 2120: Intermediate Latin II
  • Latin 3110/FCS 3650: Classical Literature — Latin
