About

Kevin Landis is an assistant professor of Theatre in the Department of Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. His research involves "avant-garde" theatre groups and the prevalence of Eastern European training methods in the United States. Professor Landis has published several articles on the subject and is currently completing a manuscript about the Double Edge Theatre Company of Ashfield, Massachusetts. Landis' academic interests go beyond the avant-garde as he has studied the works of drag film and stage star, Julian Eltinge and is deeply interested in representation of Native Americans on the early American Stage. Landis is an MFA trained actor and member of the Actor's Equity Association. He specializes in physical theatre training derived from his work with Grotowski's lead actress, Rena Mirecka and with Stacy Klein and the Double Edge Theatre.
